Chair: Emmanuel Paul, 67 years old, was born here. “My grandparents came from Mozambique. This is the first water in over 100 years that has been finished for us. We worked for two days on building the road. There are 36 families that will use this borehole. We got water from a dirty river and we were sick often. The health clinic is 6 km away. We take moto-taxis for MK2500-5000 to the clinics. We went to the clinic 3 times a month. Now we only go for malaria. There was a cholera epidemic in Malawi but there was no cholera here. Someone died on the other side of the mountain. We wash clothes, bodies. Women collect many buckets of water a day.”
