Stories / Quotes:
Families: 20
Water committee: 4 men and 6 women
First time for women to be in leadership. They feel so good because the women were the one’s feeling the pain from the water.
There was another borehole about 1 km away that multiple villages used which is where they got their water before. At first, it was hard to wash and bathe. Now, they can go to bed clean. They were singing a song “We are all bathed…”. Now they can bathe 2-3 times a day.
In their spare time, they are gardening and planning on helping the school to mold 50,000 bricks to make rooms for boarding students. They also have a village bank with 21 members, and the name of the bank is Tithandizane which means “Let’s Help Each Other”
They said the water tastes good. Their beans can cook faster and tastes better.
The children were late for school because of the lack of clean water, and they couldn’t get enough clean clothes. Before, 40 percent of kids went to school. Now 100% of our children go to school. Now, our children can concentrate on school.
Now children can go to school in good time, and the adults are able to go late to the well and get as much water as they can.
