Stories/ Quotes:
Headmaster: Matthew Bayrd “We were #7 in academic performance before the borehole was installed. Now we are #1 in the district. Attendance is increasing and dropouts are decreasing. There has been a 25% improvement in attendance. We are planning to mold 200,000 bricks to make a second block of classrooms. We had a meeting with the community families and we are committed to the building project. The cholera epidemic passed over us. In the neighboring school, two students died of cholera. We lost no one. The graduation rates are going to be great. I am telling you; we will have a high rate of learners that will be selected for secondary school. There is a national exam supervised by the government Department of Education. Students who pass the test will be selected to local secondary schools. These learners who do very well will be selected to district boarding schools. Those who do very well will be selected for national boarding schools. These schools are better and costs are lower. Last year we had one boy selected to the national level and three boys to district secondary schools. This year of 2023, we expect three learners: two boys and one girl will go to the national schools. This is our first girl who will go to the national level. Literacy is increasing!”
