Rhoda Clhimbergne: “The borehole has really assisted us. Students can come get water without leaving school. Girls who board here wash their clothes on the weekend. We can wash classrooms. During frequent blackouts girls are afraid to go out in the dark for water. Our girls are safe here. During the national exams for seven days, during the test, students cannot leave campus to get water. Now they can just walk outside and be refreshed. Our kids used to walk very far for water. Now they are not late. Electricity is a problem here. Sometimes we go two or three weeks without power. As parents we worry about our kids going in the dark for water and a girl child going out in the dark as it is very dangerous. We are very happy and grateful to have water at school.”

Teacher: Matthew Mkorongo: “We use the water for drinking, washing hands, and cleaning classrooms. We plan for the future to build teacher housing and more classrooms. The families and the community have committed to mold 100,000 bricks.”
