Before the well, the women would wake up at 2 in the morning to search for and collect water from dirty streams, often making the trip three times a day. During the hot season, the streams would dry up, and sometimes they had to dig for water. Cholera and diarrhea were constant problems, and the women would frequently travel 15 km to the clinic for treatment.

Now, everything has changed. With reliable access to clean water, the women can spend their free time gardening and enjoying more quality family time. The well has brought a major improvement to family dynamics, allowing the community to focus on healthier, happier lives. School attendance has more than doubled, as students no longer have to worry about long trips to fetch water. They can be on time and focus on their education. The well has truly transformed their lives.
