This World Water Day, we invite you to take a closer look at what’s on the Water Menu—and how you can help change it.
Around the world, millions of people are faced with a devastating reality: their only options for drinking water are unsafe, contaminated, and even dangerous. In Malawi, this is the daily struggle for families and communities who rely on dirty, contaminated water sources.
At Water Wells for Africa (WWFA), we believe every person deserves access to clean, safe water. This World Water Day, we’re highlighting one community’s incredible journey from unsafe water to health and hope—the village of Mwedini Mazoto Trust in the heart of Malawi.
In Mwedini, families once had no choice but to drink from contaminated frog wells—ponds and pits contaminated by frogs. But thanks to the unwavering dedication of the local community and the support of generous donors like you, Mwedini now has access to clean, safe water. This transformation has not only improved health but also empowered the community to thrive, free from waterborne diseases for over 8 years.
But we’re not done yet.
The work in Mwedini is just one example of what’s possible when we change the Water Menu. This World Water Day, we’re asking you to join us in bringing clean water to more communities in Malawi. Your donation can provide the resources necessary to build wells, install water infrastructure, and give families access to a brighter, healthier future.

How You Can Help
The impact of your donation goes beyond providing a well—it transforms communities. We’ve seen the power of clean water in Mwedini, and now we want to extend that opportunity to even more villages in need.
A French documentary team produced a beautiful, inspiring film about the transformation in Mwedini. Visit our Roadways to Change landing page to learn more about Mwedini’s journey, watch the documentary that chronicles their incredible effort to bring water to their village, and find out how you can make a lasting impact on this World Water Day.
