We returned to this location two and a half years after we implemented a water well at Nanyanje School. We were pleased to see that it has not only provided safe water but also fueled student success, reforestation efforts, and a 100% graduation rate.

Stories / Quotes:
Students:
- 2021 (before well): 357 boys, 392 girls = 749 total students
- 2022 (after well): 401 boys, 415 girls = 815 total students
- 2023: 425 boys, 438 girls = 863 total students
- September 2024 (after Blossom Project): 443 girls, 442 boys = 875 total students
This water well has brought more than water—it has fostered growth and health. Since its installation on May 2, 2022, there has been no cholera at the school.
The school has leveraged their WWFA water source, planting (and watering!) 600-700 trees in 2023 and nurturing a nursery with 2,000 seedlings of acacia, mango, papaya, and guava. As the students participate in the tree farming, they engage in teamwork, and learn about stewarding the land and the value of hard work.
The academic impact is remarkable, with a 100% graduation rate as of May 2024. Out of 39 students who took for national exams:
- 22 graduated to Community Day Secondary Schools (12 boys, 10 girls)
- 11 graduated to District schools (10 boys, 1 girl)
- 6 went on to private schools
This visit reaffirms the transformative power of clean water, not just in improving health but also in fostering education, environmental stewardship, and community unity. Nanyanje is thriving and looking forward to an even brighter future.
