Stories/ Quotes:

Benson Ukasha, “The school was founded in 1999 but with no infrastructure. Now we have infrastructure but no water. There was a shallow hand pump but it was salty. This one is delicious. Sanitation is improved. Clean water prevents sickness in our students. Absenteeism is reduced. Dropouts are reduced, especially among girls. Attendance is up at least 10%. Academic performance has improved. We are expecting more students to be selected to secondary school at every level: local, district, and national secondary schools. We are expecting our first girl to go to national levels and two boys. Even the teachers are happy.”

Saulos John, a teacher, “During the cholera pandemic not one student suffered from cholera. With the well we had clean drinking water and could wash hands. But in a number of schools, two schools; Mponya Primary and Nankihubi Primary about 20 students suffered from cholera. Cholera is very contagious. The sick must be quarantined at the hospital.”
