Stories / Quotes:

Families: 160
Water committee: 5 men and 5 women

Before the well, life in the village was incredibly difficult. For a long time, the community had no reliable water source. They were forced to dig shallow wells of dirty water, often shared with pigs, or rely on dry holes. Collecting water consumed hours each day as they searched and carried it back home. Waterborne diseases like cholera and dysentery were rampant, causing many deaths. Frequent trips to the clinic were necessary, further draining their time and energy. School attendance was low, with only 40 girls and 60 boys enrolled, as children often spent their days fetching water instead of attending class.

Now, the well has transformed the village. Families have clean water, allowing them to cultivate home gardens and spend their spare time working productively. School attendance has risen dramatically, from 100 students (40 girls and 60 boys) to 140 students (65 girls and 75 boys), an almost 50% increase. Along with higher attendance, grades have improved, giving children the chance to build brighter futures. The well has brought health, opportunity, and hope to the entire community.
