Before the borehole, Wiskem 1 families collected just two buckets of water per day. Trips to the clinic for waterborne sickness took three hours by motorbike or taxi, costing MK 5,000 each way, and domestic violence and poor sanitation were common.

Since the well was installed, waterborne illness is gone, domestic violence has ended, and children’s school attendance has risen from 50% to 80%. Families now have time to tend gardens in all seasons, improve roads, and support community development. “The future for our children is bright,” shared villagers.

Families also enjoy better hygiene, improved food, and a restored sense of dignity. As the community said, “Everything is from Heaven. We praise our Father in Heaven because of this borehole.”
