Kwaule Village was once one of the worst-hit areas for cholera in the district. Entire households fell ill from contaminated water, disrupting farm work and daily life.
Stella Mbedza shared:
“We would go to the water well at 6 a.m. and return at noon with just one bucket. Otherwise, we fetched water from Kaninga River.” She added, “Now my children look clean and healthy. No more coughs.”
Mr. Lazalo Kashoni explained, “We men would go to Kaninga River to bathe. Now our wives can provide safe water for a bath twice a day. Marital problems have been eliminated.”
Eleven-year-old Martha Isaac, in Standard 5, said, “It was very difficult to fetch water. I often skipped school or went without bathing. Now I go to school on time.”
This well has restored health, dignity, and peace to Kwaule and neighboring villages.
