Stories / Quotes:
Families: 34 + Mogom Bo Village
Water Committee: 2 men and 8 women
For 100 years, families in Lemu relied on the Milala River for water. Trips took two hours round-trip, often longer in the dry season, and women would fight over their place in line, sometimes breaking buckets. The river was contaminated and flooded during the rainy season.
Since the borehole, life has transformed. “Now 100% of our children go to school, clean and on time,” the villagers shared. Domestic violence is gone, and families no longer make costly trips to the clinic.
With time and health restored, families are farming, growing off-season vegetables to sell, and using earnings for soap, school fees, and food. Women now bathe two to three times a day, meals are on time, and the community is actively improving roads and planning to mold 200,000 bricks to build a classroom.
